It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our loving father, John Reid, who passed away on April 28, 2023, at age 81, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, surrounded by his three children. He was born in Tatamagouche to the late Robert and Anna Reid.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his treasured wife, Marilyn Reid and his brother, Robert Reid.

He is survived by children, Jack (Paula), Shelley (Bob) and Scott (Tracy); grandchildren, Brittany (Travis), Brianna (Brandon), Noah, Piers, and Kai, and great grandchild, River. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Jean Dufrat, Donald Reid, Diane Robertson, Barb Langille, and Edison Reid,

He was a charming, kind, hard-working, loving human-being with a heart of gold. He and his wife, Marilyn, met in 1961, and eventually settled in Truro where they raised their family. He worked for almost 40 years in the banking industry. In his spare time, he worked on many weekend projects, enjoyed family vacations, played cards with friends, dedicated time to the United Church as an elder and Clerk of Session, and seized every opportunity to spend time with the family he cherished.

You are forever in our hearts and memories.

The family expresses profound gratitude to the Palliative Care team at Colchester East Hants Health Centre and to the VON care team.
