George, Alton Minor – Age 87 – Folly Mountain. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alton Minor George on June 7, 2023, in Debert Court – Shannex. Born on Folly Mountain on May 30, 1936, he was a son of the late Minor Yorke Dixon and Clara Elma (Smith) George.

Alton drove a truck for many years and upon retiring, took up bingo with his wife, Sharon.

He will be missed by his children, Carrie (Stephen), Laurie (Lisa), David (Vanessa), Wayne (Ashley), Ronnie, Sherry and Kathy as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Howard (Venitia); sisters, Carol (Mike), Mona (Dave) and Pauline (Gerald).

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sharon; son, Keith and sisters, Mildred, Eileen, Vonnie and Sharon.

Donations in Alton’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or NS Lung Association.
