Rector, Kevin Floyd – Age 67 of Camden, passed away suddenly at home on July 21, 2023, with his companion and longtime friend, Gail by his side. Kevin grew up in Bass River and was the son of the late Doreen (Stewart) and Floyd Rector.

He spent much of his career working in lumber yards and retired from Sproule Lumber on January 17, 2021. Kevin’s Saturday visits from nephew, Brian and his dog, Oscar were the highlight of his week. He will be greatly missed by his many close friends and Kathy’s loving family.

He is survived by his partner, Gail Taylor of Camden and his son, Wayne (Shanna) of Debert. Kevin also sadly leaves behind his siblings, Judi, Cathy, Donnie and Lori, and his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Morgan, Katelyn, Kyle and Olivia as well as his aunts, Betty (Curtis) and Muriel; his uncle, Duane and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Kevin was predeceased by his cherished wife, Kathy Boggs Rector; siblings, Tony and Doreen, as well as his niece, Sarah.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kevin may be made to VON Truro.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12th from 1pm until time of service at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating.
