Obituary for Allison Gower
Gower, Allison Kenneth – Age 96, Truro, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2023, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late William and Lena (Burris) Gower and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Allison worked 42 years and eleven months with CNR doing a variety of jobs. He enjoyed gardening and spending time at the mall with friends. He especially loved dancing and gambling at various casinos with his longtime friend and companion, Doris Jobb. He often enjoyed travelling to Toronto to visit his siblings. Allison was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, both Truro and Debert branches. He will be missed by family and his many friends.
He is survived by his son, Wayne (Christina) of North River; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Annie (Brown); sisters, Jean, Mabel and Helen and brothers, Alfred and Ronald.
Donations in Allison’s memory may be made to CEHHC “We Care About Cancer.”
Cremation has taken place. At his request, there will be no visitation or service. A private burial will take place in Watson Cemetery at a later date.
