Obituary for Jason Saxton

Jason Saxton
Jason Andrew Saxton
January 7, 1979 ~ December 11, 2023

Born in Truro, Jason was the son of Brenda Lennerton Nolan (Kevin), Warwick Mountain and Timothy Saxton (Elizabeth), Truro. He was a loving and supportive brother to Jaimie Saxton (Andrea), Alex (Katie), Heather (Keith) and Katherine.

Jason was predeceased by his grandparents, Helen and Philip Lennerton, Old Barns and Joseph and Jean Saxton, Truro as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He worked for more than 25 years in the grocery industry in Truro, Halifax and Dartmouth, starting out as a meat cutter and moving on to department manager. For the past few years, he worked at the Home Hardware Distribution Centre in Debert.

Jason was a loving son and brother, and a friend to all who knew him – an old soul with a huge heart and an amazingly quick wit. He loved helping people, whether it was organizing a fundraiser at work or caring for a friend or neighbour. Jason would be the go-to-guy, front and center.

He was an avid animal lover, having had his beloved cat, Bailey, for eighteen years. Jason enjoyed movies – all genres, but horror and comedy were his favourites.

Jason passed away unexpectedly at home. He will be forever missed by his parents, siblings and large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him deeply and with whom he shared so many great memories. He will be welcomed into the loving arms of his grandparents and the aunts, uncles and cousins who have gone on ahead, especially his beloved Nannie Helen.

Donations in Jason’s memory may be made to the SPCA.
