In loving memory of Linda Faye Rushton
January 12, 1948 - January 17, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving and beautiful mother, Linda Faye Rushton. She left this world peacefully in her sleep at home on January 17, 2024.
Linda was the daughter of the late Donald and Laura “Peg” Turner of East Mines.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her first husband, Ted Rushton; common-law partner, David Fisher and brother, Donald Turner Jr.
Lynn is remembered by her loving children, Angela and Terry; granddaughters, Kate (Kyle) and Brittany; great grandsons, Liam and Lennox; brother, Ralph (Janice); many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mom was a beacon of strength and kindness, always putting her children first. She brought immense joy and warmth into the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Mom could always be found with a smile on her face. She spent many years working as an amazing cook, including cooking for a year on Sable Island. It gave her great joy taking in many stray cats, fishing on Bass River and spending lots of time with her wonderful family.
We would like to send out a special thank you to the Palliative Care Team, Angela, Mary, Dr. Cortney Smith and her favorite VON, Thomas, for your exceptional compassion and kindness and making these past three and a half months as comfortable as possible for her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any animal shelter.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
