Obituary for Eleanor Johnson (Coupar)

JOHNSON â€" Eleanor, Annie â€" 93, formerly of 331 Pictou Road, Truro, passed away peacefully at Meadowland Villa, Bible Hill on June 13, 2007. Born in Chemainus, British Columbia on May 5, 1914 she was a daughter of the late George and Ruby Coupar (Porter). She was a graduate of the Provincial Normal College in 1932 and attended the Nova Scotia Agricultural College and courses at Mount Allison and St. Mary’s Universities. A school teacher for thirty five years in Bible Hill and surrounding districts; she was a member of the Nova Scotia Teachers’ Union, the Retired Teachers Association, St. George’s Anglican Church and the Anglican Church Women. She will be greatly missed by son James (Linda), grandchildren Maurice and Shauna, East Mountain; daughter Judith, Bible Hill; brother Dennis Coupar, Elmsdale; step-grandchildren, Jane Fullerton (Warren Quin), Saint John, New Brunswick; Sara Fullerton, Central West River; David (Crystal) Fullerton, Onslow; five great grandchildren, Rachel Fullerton Quin, Matthew and Thomas Peppard, Connor and Anna Fullerton; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces, great grand nephews, cousins; sisters- in â€"law, Bette (Mrs. John Coupar), Betty (Mrs. Allan Coupar), both of Bible Hill. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Alden, step-daughter Elizabeth Fullerton-Graham; brothers John and Allan Coupar. Cremation has taken place at Eleanor’s request. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 15th, from 7:00 â€" 9:00 p.m with a Memorial service on Saturday, June 16th at 11:00 a.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Peter MacRae officiating. Reception to follow the service. A private interment will be held in Johnson Cemetery, East Mountain.
