Obituary for Joseph Julien

Joseph Matthew Julien – 79, Dartmouth formally of Millbrook First Nation, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2019 in Millbrook. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Alexander “Sandy” and Martha (Francis) Julien.

Joseph was a family man. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews as well as being devoted to his brothers and sisters, especially to his brother, Keith. He worked for many years with Lake City Woodworking in Dartmouth. Bingo and spending time with family and friends especially at social occasions brought him great joy. Pilgrimages to St. Anne de Beaupré were always something he looked forward to.

He is survived by brothers, Keith Julien (Theresa), Millbrook, Joe B. Marshall (Viola), Yarmouth, Derrick Stephens (Georgia), Millbrook; special niece, Louise Ann Hepworth as well as many other special nieces and nephews. Joseph also leaves behind his extended family, Mattie, Dale and Sharon Tapper.

Along with his parents, Joseph was predeceased by sisters, Angeline Paul, Sandra Julien, Linda Julien, Janet Bernard; nephews, Shawn Paul and Kevin Bannon; extended family members, Roger and Mary Tapper, Roddie Martin.

Joseph will be resting at the home of his brother, Keith Julien, 31 Church Rd., Millbrook with visitation beginning after 2pm Sunday, April 21. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, April 23 in Sacred Heart Church, Millbrook, Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Salité and Meal to follow in Millbrook Community Hall. Burial at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Millbrook. Donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to Lake City Works Employment Agency (386 Windmill Rd., Dartmouth, N.S. B3A 1J5)
