Obituary for Ian "Wayne" Spencer

Ian "Wayne" Spencer (73) passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit, of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, NS on July 10, 2019. Born in Toronto, he spent most of his life in Great Village where he raised his sons, Glenn (Jennifer) and Kelly (Jennifer) with his wife of 50 years, Joyce. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, grandsons, Brett, Ryan, Kaden, Jaxon and only granddaughter, Rowan. An avid Blue Jays and Maple Leafs fan, he earned his living as a carpenter by trade retiring from Kent Building Supplies and prior Kent Homes. He built several houses and cottages in his time; there wasn’t a project he wouldn’t tackle. His kind, quiet, capable nature will be remembered by all who knew him. He was predeceased by parents, Ralph and Muriel Spencer and in-laws, Reg and Pearl Gilby. He also leaves to mourn his siblings: Lyle, Dennis, Darrell, Elmer, Ruth, Randy and Lynn, their spouses and families. Special thanks to Shelley of 2E. You make everyone’s day a little brighter during a difficult time. At Wayne’s request, there will be no service. Arrangements entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro, N.S.
