Obituary

McMaster, Helen Lillian, Debert. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Lillian (Murray) McMaster in Debert Court, formerly of Masstown, on Sunday, March 8, 2020. She was a daughter of the late Oran and Josephine (Loughead) Murray of Masstown and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Helen was an avid reader, she loved to cook and play cards, especially with Lloyd and Eleanor. She loved to go dancing with Fred, as this is how they met. She kept attending the dances even after ill-health stopped her from participating. She was a member of the Masstown United Church and the Masstown UCW. She is survived by her son, Lester (Ruby), Debert; daughter, Wanda (Daniel) Wallace, Masstown; granddaughter, Twilla (Wade) Rutherford, Little Dyke; grandson, Mark (Kenisha) McMaster, Truro; great grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, Shemar, Zahara, Mauricia; several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband of 75 years, Fred; brother, John; sisters, Laura, Marjorie, Mabel and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro from where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th from 1p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Henderson officiating. Reception to follow. Family flowers only. Interment at a later date in Masstown Cemetery. Donations may be made to Masstown United Church or the Alzheimer Society. Wanda , Lester and families. Sorry to hear of Helen's passing. Hard to believe it's been 17 years since we had the family gathering at my cottage in Burnside. So many of the elder family members are gone now. Passing along our sincere condolences to everyone.
Take care.
Sincerely, Richard Graham
