Obituary for Theresa Caines

Caines, Theresa Marie – age 86, Truro. On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, Theresa Caines, Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 86. Theresa was born on September 21, 1933 in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, N.B. to the late Albenie and Alice (Richard) Thibodeau. On February 13, 1956, she married Jim Caines, her loving husband of 64 years. They raised four children, Wayne and Starr (Craft), Loretta and Al Hubley, Wally and Cindy (Boucher), Lucy and Mark (Taylor). Theresa will be dearly missed by her husband, her children and her grandchildren, Dan Power, Matthew Power, Lucas Langstaff, Cassandra Caines, William Caines, Ricky Nickerson, Nicholas Nickerson, Terri-Ann Nickerson, Samantha Nickerson and Erica Caines; great grandchildren, Alex, Ethan, Evan, Malakhi, Willow, Zailey, Audrina and Adelyn. Theresa was predeceased by her parents and her eleven siblings. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jim. Every summer they would spend several weeks in New Hampshire with their children. When they retired, they travelled around the USA and Canada spending many winters in Florida. Her dream trip was their trip to Rome and Vatican City to see the Pope. She enjoyed playing golf and 45's, especially holding onto the 5 until the last card. Theresa was a very devout Catholic. The Rosary was a very large part of her life. The family would like to thank the staff of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro for caring for Theresa during her stay and the staff of Cedarstone Enhanced Care where she spent her final days.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Monday, March 16th at 11:00 am in the Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince St., Truro with Fr. Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Reception to follow in Campbell Hall. No visitation at request of the family. Donations may be made in Theresa's memory to the Immaculate Conception Church, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
