Obituary for Angelene Vallis

Vallis, Angelene Alice – age 76, Murry Siding, passed away on April 18, 2020 from cancer in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Angie was born in Filmore, SK then later moved to Regina, SK where she grew up and later met her first husband, William Vallis. They moved from Regina to St. Catharines, ON and started a family - two boys, Courtland Bruce Vallis and Mark Thomas Vallis. After five years in St. Catharines, they moved to Hampton, NB. Angie worked at the District 19 School Board Office for fifteen years managing the payroll for the teachers, bus drivers, and custodians. Her home was always full of family friends and her children’s friends, it was where people wanted to meet and enjoy themselves. In 1989, Angie met her second husband, Kim Leier (predeceased 2016) and moved to Truro, NS. She then worked for Stats Canada as an Interviewer for almost 30 years. In the summers, Angie and Kim spent time at the cottage on Shortt’s Lake. Angie and Kim were members of the Shortt’s Lake Yacht Club and enjoyed weekend sailboat races and the Après that followed. Angie will be missed by all that knew her. She leaves behind her children, Courtland Bruce Vallis and Mark Thomas Vallis; grandchildren, Benjamin Vallis, Emily Vallis, and Michael Vallis. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
