Obituary

Russell, Creighton – age 87, Shubenacadie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. He was born in West Lawrencetown, Halifax Co., to the late Cecil and Gladys (Conrad) Russell. Creighton is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Geddes); daughters, Lisa (Darren) MacPhee and Kate (Murray) Coupar; granddaughters, Keltie, Hana (Darcy) and Rachel (Jacob); brother, Stirling (Yvonne) and close cousins, Helen and Brian. He started working at a young age in the construction industry and moved to Milford to work at National Gypsum where he met Elizabeth. They settled there for a number of years before moving to Shubenacadie. His work at Oak Island as a crane operator in the early 1960’s made for some interesting stories. Creighton worked for a number of years with Atlantic Cat, retiring as General Manager of Engine Sales in 1990. Papa loved being with family and was especially proud of his granddaughters. He was a special uncle and Bub to many nieces and nephews over the years. Thank you to Dr. Sheehy, the VON, Dr. Llewellyn, Dr. Locke and 2E staff at CEHHC for their wonderful care. Should anyone wish, the family would appreciate a donation to a local food bank. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
