Obituary for William Fraser

Fraser, William “Bill” George – 67, Bible Hill, passed on February 21, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro following a courageous battle with cancer.

Bill was born in Amherst on November 14, 1953, the only son of the late George and Margaret (Downey) Fraser. He worked at Sobeys, Ray Crawford Roofing and Amherst Tax in Amherst before moving to Truro. Bill worked at Robertson’s Candy for many years as a candy maker until his retirement a few years ago. He and his wife, Sheryl, also delivered the Chronicle Herald for almost four years as well as flyers until his illness became too much for him. He was a member of the Hubtown Dart League.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sheryl (Lynds); children, Scott, Halifax and Sherrie, Ontario; sisters, Gail (Morris), Marlene and Cheryl (Dave) all of Amherst; mother-in-law, Izetta Lynds; brothers-in-law, Clay, Robin, Jeffrey and Arthur Lynds as well as Sheryl’s children, Leo, Duane and Hazen Tanner. Step-brothers, Carl and George Jr., step-sister, Abbie.

Bill’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the CEHHC Oncology Unit, the CEHHC Palliative Care Unit and the QEII in Halifax.

Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
