Condolences

Condolence From: Shelley Benvie
Condolence: We are so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. We were fortunate to be neighbours of Bill and Betty when they moved to Truro. They were kind and wonderful folks. They often had a treat for my boys and always a friendly wave for us. We had many chats over the beautiful Wisteria bush between our yards. They were so proud of their children and we felt as if we knew them a little bit. Keep your memories close and may they comfort you.

Condolence From: John and Eleanor McGrath
Condolence: Stephen,Andrea, and Kristina, we were so saddened to learn of your mother’s passing. I taught with your father at Brother Rice High School in St.John’s and Eleanor and I shared some great parties with Bill and Betty. Sadly, we lost touch with them when they moved to Truro but I did contact your dad before he passed away. They were wonderful people who were loved and respected by everyone who knew them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now as you also suffer the loss of your beloved mother. May she Rest In Peace!

Condolence: Alasdair and I enjoyed getting to know Betty at Truro Band functions. She and Alasdair sat together at many concerts. We especially loved having Bill and Betty attend often with family at our band BBQ prior to the River John parade. Both Betty and Bill are remembered fondly and are missed.

Condolence: I am expressing condolence on behalf of the Truro Concert Band. Betty's husband, Bill, played clarinet with the band and Betty was often in the audience at parades and concerts. The band members remember Betty and Bill, the music, the laughter. I wish you peace in your hearts and joy from your memories.

Condolence From: Ed Woodrow
Condolence: My deepest sympathy to Stephen, Andrea and Kristina and family,

I have thought about your Mom and Dad many times and wondered where they had moved to live. I didn't realize that they were in Truro. My sister Nellie Osmond (Woodrow) was really good friends with your parents. Nellie worked with Forestry. Your parents, Nellie, and a great group from Forestry hung around together. I remember they all came out to our home town of Bay-de-Verde for a visit when I was just a teenager. Later on I went to work with Forestry and got to know your Dad and Mom quite well. They were such kind people. I did not know your Dad had passed away. I am so sorry to hear that and to hear of your Mom's passing. I am glad to have this opportunity to reach out to you.

God bless and take care,

Ed Woodrow

Condolence: My deepest sympathies to the family. I worked with Betty at MUN and have the deepest memories of our relationship. She truly was a “sweet lady”, worked hard, laughed easily and always spoke with such joy of her children. I treasure those memories and Rest In Peace. Betty in your well deserved eternity with the love of your life Bill.
