Condolences

Condolence From: Sharon Karas
Condolence: The Karas & Giffin families wish to send our condolences to Ron's family & siblings on behalf of his deceased cousins Aileen, Olliver,& Cyril (children of Laurie & Dot Giffin). Growing up we all heard or knew of Uncle Reg, Aunt Lily and their family. Unfortunately over the years as families often do, contact became minimal. We know that each of them would want us to reach out with our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Sharon Karas, David Karas & family, Pat Giffin & family, Larry Giffin & family

Condolence From: Joel Matheson
Condolence: Patricia and family, I was saddened to hear of Ron's passing. We were both members of the elected "Class of 78" and served together for fifteen years. During that time, we sat together at the Cabinet table many times. I always enjoyed our conversations, especially our somewhat enlightened critiques of what was transpiring at that particular time. Ron was a man of integrity, committed to the service of his constituency and our province. He also had a great sense of humour and we shared many laughs together. May prayer, the comfort of family and friends and fond memories help you and your family through this most difficult of times. In sympathy, Joel Matheson

Condolence From: George White
Condolence: I was very sorry to learn of Ron's passing. Ron was was a foremost elected official in Nova Scotia during his years of public service. He lead to the development of degree granting status for the Agricultural College and was responsible for many other local achievements. Ron was a well respected leader in the cabinet of John Buchanan having served as Chair of the Management Board and then of the Policy Board in addition to holding significant portfolios. However, these words in his first successful election brochure reflect Ron's personal side, "Ron Giffin is first and foremost a family man. Despite his professional and community duties, Ron Giffin's day begins and ends at home." Ron always remained true to those words. My condolences to his beloved wife Pat and to their family. Condolence: Pat and family, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Ron. He was a hero in my eyes and someone I had the utmost respect for. His laugh would light up a room and put so many at ease. He truly was a mentor to me as looked into the career of an RCMP officer and provided the guidance I needed to accomplish that goal. Ron was a true community champion who gave so much back to his community, there isn't many left around like Ron, that would go beyond what was required to help someone, a trait Ron cherished. Rest In Peace Ron, always Respected and Never Forgotten!
