On the evening of April 15th, 2021, Ronald Giffin of Truro passed away peacefully at the age of 78.
Ronald was born to Reginald and Lillian Giffin in 1942 in Windsor, Nova Scotia. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Giffin. He was a loving father to Greg Giffin and Christopher Giffin; a grandfather to Harrison Giffin, Simon Giffin and Lis Giffin-Sole. As well, he is survived by his siblings Claude Giffin, Brian Giffin and Pauline Giffin. He is predeceased by his brother Reid Giffin.
He received undergraduate degree from Acadia University and went on to complete his law degree at Dalhousie Law School. He had a distinguished career as a lawyer and a public servant. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Truro / Bible Hill from 1978 – 1993. He held many positions including the Minister of Education and the Attorney General during his time in office. He was also an active member in the community after retirement and volunteered to serve on various boards and committees.
