Condolence: From 1971 to 1973 I worked as clerical support to the Psychiatrists who worked on 2A at the Infirmary - I remember how kind and supportive your sister was and she had the best smile - and was so much fun.

Condolence: Sheila was my head nurse on 2A in 1968. I was new to Halifax and she gave me the royal tour! After she got “Mavis” we explored Nova Scotia. I even got to spend a weekend in Otter Brook, talk about wonderful company and home cooked meals. We had a fun vacation in Bermuda. I travelled a lot but a couple of times when in Halifax and working at the Infirmary I roomed with her on Birmingham Street. She was not only a perfect head nurse, but a most companionable roomie. So smart, so witty. When I was on an extended maternity leave at St. Mary’s University, she took over my job. Over the years she has kept me updated on our mutual friends and her family. She has even sent me newspaper clipping of my sons when I was out of the country. So special. Getting a letter from Sheila meant putting on a pot of tea and settling in for a good read. Thanks to covid, I received more than my usual quota this year. In her last letter she told me that over the years she has been using my maiden name when booking a cab because the cab companies would never get her name right. I got the best laugh out of that. Every letter also mentioned Velda; wonderful to have a friend like that. I never did hear if Sheila finally got to her hair appointment! Sheila’s friendship has truly enriched my life; she will be missed.

Deepest condolences to her family.
