Obituary for Vincent Crowe

Vincent Crowe
Vincent Roy Crowe, 48, was tragically taken from those who adored him on January 17, 2022, while working on the Sabina MLA Ice Road Project in Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut.

Vince was born in Truro on October 4, 1973 to Marjorie (Law) and the late James (Jimmy) Crowe. Proudly raised by his mom and the late David (Woody) Law on Ridge Road Farm in South Branch, Upper Stewiacke, Vince was thankful every day that Woody chose to be his dad and never took it for granted.

Vince disliked crowds and had no desire to be the centre of attention. Content with himself, he didn’t need to impress anyone and didn’t invest in those who required it. It’s ironic, therefore, that there would be a public health requirement to restrict the number of people who could attend his funeral.

Vince was a welder by trade, and a handy guy. Ever a MacGyver, his finished products didn’t necessarily sparkle but they got the job done. Friendly and easygoing, he had a moral compass that guided him well, but put TRUCK 55 in a pair of skates and look out. As his brother-in-law Dana described him Vince was a little rough, and a whole lot of tough.

Vincent was fortunate to count among his blessings friends and family he could rely on to support Wendi and the kids when he worked away from home. These include but are not limited to Erin, who made sure birthday and anniversary gifts were presented and delivered with care, and Jeremy for coming to Wendi’s aid when things went awry at home.

He is survived by his wife, Wendi (Graham) Crowe and their two amazing children, Avery Alice and Brandt David. He leaves behind his mother, Marjorie (née Duncan) Law, his brother, Jamie (Shawn) and their daughters Kelsey, Bailey and Cydney. He was a proud son-in-law to Ronal and Alvera Graham, brother-in-law to Cindy (Masaya), Dana (Andrea) and Jason (Krista) and was the most affable uncle to his nieces and nephews Chelsey, Cassidy, Abigail, Ryo, Aiden, Olivia, Marin and Connor.

He leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins; those surviving include Uncles Vince Gammon, Dennis Crowe, Ricky Crowe, Walter Law and Arthur Law; Aunts Joanne Paul, Karen Duncan, Geri Black, Nancy Rioux and special cousin Nicole Armstrong.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Due to COVID 19 Restrictions, a Private Memorial Service will be held with Marty Clark Ettinger, DLM officiating. However, the family welcome you to join them for the service via live webcast on Wednesday, January 26th beginning at 1:58pm (Atlantic Time) by visiting the website below. The Webcast will be available for future viewing as well.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you pay it forward to someone in Vince’s memory. Charitable donations may be made to Parkinson Society Nova Scotia or Diabetes Canada, two diseases that have affected Vince’s family.
