Obituary for Ray Roode
Roode, Ray Morris - age 76 of Truro, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday Oct 11,2022 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care Truro. Born December 5, 1945, in Belmont, he was a son of the late Russell and Rita (Totten) Roode.
Ray worked at Crossley Carpets for many years. He was a member of the Good Neighbours Club where he donated his time as maintenance. Some of his favorite activities were dancing, long walks, bingo and playing fetch with Harley (grand puppy).
Ray is survived by his wife Linda Roode (Conway); former wife and friend (Doreen Roode); daughters Liz Thompson (Ted Martin) of North River; Angela (Scott) Gray Truro; Christine (Dale) Toole Truro; brother James Roode (Alma Kyle) New Glasgow; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; dear friend Thelma Klinc.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by, son Raymond Gerald Roode; sisters, Geraldine Caverly; Faye Roode; Maxine Rushton Truro; Shirley Lindsay Belmont; Floyd Roode Belmont.
There will be no visitation by request. A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at a later date. Interment in Belmont Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Palliative care Unit at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre; ALS society and Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s memory may be made to the Colchester East Hants Palliative Care unit, ALS Society or charity of choice.
