Obituary for Leo Boucher

Boucher, Leo Joseph- Age 88, Hilden. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Leo Joseph Boucher, on October 20, 2022, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Leo was a son of the late Willie and Lydie (Leblanc).

Left to mourn are his daughter, Barbara Boucher, Hilden; son, David (Patricia) Boucher, Uxbridge, Mass.; grandchildren, James (Brittney), Amanda (Bryan), Scott (Stephanie), Maria (Kevin), Nicole (Phil), Ryan, Cassie (Brandon), Mathew and Dante; great-grandchildren, Riley, Logan, Margaret and Grayson; sisters, Irene (Ronald) Robichaud, Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Leola (Ronald) Arsenault, Hudson, Mass., Doris (Pat) Bowles, Hudson, Mass. and Maria (Bob) Robichaud, Holden, Mass.; brother, Norman (Anne), Holiday, Florida; along with many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Leo was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Boucher in 2014; sisters, Ida Leblanc and Yvonne Richard; brothers, Joseph and George Boucher.

Leo was a true sports fan! He especially loved hockey and the Detroit Red Wings. If he wasn’t playing it and talking about it, he was coaching it, like he did in the early 70’s. Leo also loved baseball and the Boston Red Sox, but his real passion was trains. That being said, there was nothing Leo loved more than his family. Spending time with his brothers and sisters in Bouctouche as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially visits with his grandkids from the States. Going to all Scott’s hockey games, Ryan’s basketball games, and even a few horse shows with Nicole, even with his fear of horses. He was their biggest fan.

Leo always talked to anyone and everyone that he met. He passed this on to his grandkids because they all do the same. He loved to laugh, play cards and have his Tim Horton’s coffee.

A carpenter by trade, he had great skill and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. Leo will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A special thank you to VON for taking care of Leo for a few years at home and to Tina O’Connell for staying with dad in the hospital and being there for us.

A visitation for Leo will take place on Saturday, October 22nd from 6-8 pm with a Prayer Service on Sunday, October 23rd beginning at 1 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS.
