Obituary for Carole Jackson

Carole Jackson
Jackson, Carole Lorena – Age 77, Truro. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the quiet passing of Carole Lorena Jackson at home on January 13, 2023, with her daughter by her side. Born in Westchester Station, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Nancy (Ferdinand) Higgins.

In her younger years, Carole loved to attend the Lincoln dances along with her best friend, Ferna. It was at this time that she met the love of her life, Robert and started a family. In the late 1970’s, Carole, along with her young family, moved out to Fort St. John, BC and while there, cared for children in her home. In 1984, the family returned to the east coast to settle in Truro where she worked as a caregiver for many years. Carole was proud of her family and enjoyed making her house feel like a home. A very strong person, she endured many hardships in her lifetime.

Carole will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lynn Jackson; sisters, Beryle Slater and Dorothy Roode, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and her lifelong friend, Ferna.

Besides her parents, Carole was predeceased by husband, Robert Thomas Jackson; son, Robert Craig Jackson; brothers, Wilfred, Manson, Wallace, Ray, Lorimar, and Wendell, as well as sisters, Rita Mae MacPhee and Gloria Martin.

Donations in Carole’s memory may be made to CNIB Guide Dogs or the Westchester Wesleyan Church.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 21st from 1pm until time of funeral service at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. Pastor Evan Oxner officiating. Masks are encouraged. Webcasting will begin at 1:58pm (AST). Online condolences available at www.ColchesterCommunity.com
