Obituary for Donald Bezanson

Donald Bezanson
Donald George Bezanson
February 28th, 1952 – May 24th, 2023

It is hard to believe that our brother is no longer with us. Donald had a smile that would light up his face. He had a love for horses. When Donald and one of his sisters got together, they would share photos of the horses.

He would stop in on Sundays to visit family members for a chat and a coffee. Most of his Sunday was dedicated to his mother, Eileen. It was very seldom that he would miss his visit with her. They would talk, have dinner, and sit down to watch a movie together. Mother will hold those memories of each Sunday close to her heart.

Donald was born in Middle Musquodoboit and lived in Newton Mills. He spent many years working in the woods. He worked hard through the week; his weekends were spent visiting family and friends.

Later in life, Donald moved to New Glasgow. Of course, making new friends along the way. There he worked on a farm tending to horses and other livestock, still working in the woods on occasions.

Donald came from a large family that will always miss him. Every memory of him will always be with us, even his quirky comments. He always had something to say. If he was thinking it, sure enough we were going to hear it. Which made him stand out to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Donald's memories have touched many hearts. And many hearts will hold those memories.

Donald is survived by his mother, Eileen (Reid) Bezanson; siblings, Steven (Judy), Upper Stewiacke, Michael (Judy), Middle Musquodoboit, Perry (Lynn), Stellarton, Linda, Truro, Dianna, Aylesford, Betty (Martin), Middle Musquodoboit, Walter John, Upper Stewiacke, Leslie (Joe), Truro, Elizabeth (Frank), Shelburne, and Joanna (Clark), Upper Stewiacke.

Donald was predeceased by his father, Walter Donald Bezanson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Upper Stewiacke on Tuesday, May 30th at 1 p.m. with Marty Clark-Ettinger, DLM officiating. Followed by lunch at the home of Donald’s brother, Steve. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
