Currie, Jean Thelma – Age 91, Truro. It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Jean Currie on March 31, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Jean was born in Truro on July 18, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Sadie (Brunt) Armsworthy and was their last surviving child of fourteen.

Jean lived the last 30 years with her loving partner, Emery Cormier in Five Islands. Prior to living in Five Islands, she lived in Crowes Mills where she and her late husband, Fred Currie, raised their family. Jean will be forever missed by her children, Cheryl (Jim), Fred (Mona), Pauline (Randy), Gary, Dale and Rachel (Carl). Jean will also be missed by her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband, Fred and her beloved son, Michael.

Jean loved spending time with her family, cooking, dancing, listening to music and swimming. Jean was a lady with style and great wit. She was ever so humble about her appearance but there was never a day that she didn’t look as beautiful outside as she was inside.

Jean’s family would like to thank all the staff of Cedarstone Enhanced Care for their loving care during her stay.

There will be no funeral at Jean’s request. A family celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro.
