Obituary for Arleen Tremblay

Arleen Tremblay
Tremblay (McLean), Arleen Emma - 72, Stewiacke, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017, after a life-time battle with Cystic Fibrosis, Arleen peacefully went to be with her Lord. Born Nov. 1, 1944, she lived a traditional, post war life in the mining town of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. Venturing out into the world in her early 20’s, Arleen travelled to the USA, Australia, and Vietnam during the 60’s. It was at that time she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. She went on to be blessed with her daughter and in the late 70’s moved to Nova Scotia, where she’s resided ever since with her husband, Russell. A Bookkeeper by trade, she did many other interesting things during her life. She was a model, scuba dived the Great Barrier Reef, an office manager and business owner. Arleen never let her chronic illness hold her back. She rode motorcycles, loved music, played bass guitar. An avid reader, she could often be found outside on her deck chair with her glass of Pepsi and faithful dog(s) by her side. She enjoyed gardening, country living, their many very loved animals, but most of all her family. Arleen is survived by her husband, Russell; daughter, Micheline Gamble (Scott), Hilden; granddaughters, Emma and Laura; Step-son, Jesse Tremblay (Slawek),England; Brother, Robert McLean (Cathy), Ottawa; Brother-in-law, Kenny Tremblay, Truro; Nieces, Kelly Langille (Carl), Carrie Mclean, Leslie Smith (Scott); Heather McLean Johnston (Paul) , Nephew Robert McLean (Jenn) and several great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Laughlin and Germaine McLean; Brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Marion McLean; and step-father, Percy Smith. A special thank you to the staff at the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic in Halifax for their care for the past many years. A Celebration of her life visitation will be held at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, N.S. on Tuesday, January 10 from 6-8 pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations made to the Cystic Fibrosis Canada or N.S. SPCA in Arleen’s memory. On-line condolences may be made at: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
