Condolence: I am saddened to just hear of Peter's passing today. I was a student at NSAC while he was registrar and he represented a breed of people you don't often see today: not just thoroughly knowledgeable in their profession, but with a deep and genuine caring about the people they encountered. He is truly missed.
My late father worked with Peter at the CBC and had the utmost respect for him. I think everyone held him in this regard.
If you'll excuse the slightly off-colour story, I remember Peter conducting a class in swine production where the class was to evaluate a group of gilts (young female pigs). We were all wearing plastic booties (picture a see-though plastic version of a rubber boot). While he was pointing out the finer points of the structure of a pig, a gilt backed up and urinated directly into the bootie, almost filling it! Un-phased, Peter dumped out the boot, replaced it and continued on with his tutorial, without missing a beat.
I hope my little story brought a smile to your face. Peter Hamilton was a wonderful man. I'm sorry he has passed on and I hope his family will accept my sincere condolences.

Condolence: I am thinking of the Hamilton family during this difficult time.
Our two families lives intertwined due to our fathers work as well as geography ( Caribou Island). When I think of your wonderful father, I simply recall a gentleman who was adored by so many. I enjoyed stopping into see him on my way to see my own father. There was always a sincere conversation, a hug and a warm smile.
I did not hear about Peter's passing until last night and my heart sunk because I was unable to attend his life tribute. What a wonderful and full life he had.
