Obituary for James "Jim" Bowering

Bowering, James “Jim”
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James Bowering, age 73 of North River, N.S. and formerly of Toney River. Jim was born in Micmac, Quebec. Jim is survived by his second wife Catherine “Cathy” (MacDonald) of 26 years; his two children; two grandchildren; four brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, all of Ontario; three stepchildren, Thane and Kelley MacDonald, Tanya and Brad Olender, Troy and Donna MacDonald, nephews and nieces from Truro. He was predeceased by his first wife, Janice; mother Rose and father Reg Bowering of Ontario. Jim was a great handyman who enjoyed taking care of whatever place he called home. He was retired and loved to sit in his chair for days on end, watching curling with a glass of wine at the end of the day screaming “Hurry Hard” until Cathy herself thought she may start screaming. He’ll be missed by his constant friend “Buddy” whom he took for drives to Tim Hortons and Walmart because Buddy liked the grass there. He never failed to make Jim laugh. Jim was a quiet man and requested a small graveside service with his family and friends from surrounding areas. Interment will be held at West Branch Cemetery, North River on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 2 pm. Family Flowers only. Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
