Barnett, Myrtle “Mickey” Lilian (Johnson)

Mickey passed away on August 4, 2021 in Wynn Park Villa, Truro, NS at the age of 93. Born in Winnipeg, MB to Anna Ingebrigtsen and William Barnett, she moved to Greenfield, NS in 1950 with her new husband, Fred Johnson to run the family farm.

She was predeceased by her parents; stepparents, Konrad Ingebrigtsen and Ethel Barnett; ex-husband, Fred Johnson; infant son, David; siblings, Jack Barnett and Pat de la Morandiere and sons-in-law, Hank Bouman and Arnold Mackay.

Mickey is survived by her loving children, Freda Bouman, Beth Giles, Jean (Stan) Weatherbee, Joan (Darrell) Mingo, Jackie (Allen) Lattie all of the Truro area and John Johnson of Sask.; brothers, Jim (Susan), Ingebrigtsen of Winnipeg, MB, Bob (Maureen) Barnett of Calgary, AB, Larry (Wendy) Barnett; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. There will be no service as per Mom's request. A private family committal in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Wynn Park for their tender and compassionate care of Mom in her final days and especially those special men and women who took the time to run over for a quick hug or a cup of tea to enjoy with her precious books.
