Obituary for Herdman "Herdie" Kellock
KELLOCK, Herdman Clifford - Age 95, Truro.
Surrounded by the love of his family, Herdman “Herdie” Kellock of Truro passed away April 23, 2022 in Halifax. The ninth of seventeen children, he was born to the late Earl and Margaret (MacKenzie) Kellock in Plymouth Park, Pictou County on August 16, 1926.
Our Dad worked for the CNR, first in Stellarton and then in Truro until his retirement. A man of few words with a quick wit, Herdie was a hard working, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was married for 64 years to the late Mary (Pettipas) Kellock.
Left with loving memories are his children, Paul, Truro, Heidi (Daniel Laliberte), Halifax, Grace, Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Maggie, Andy, Zachary, Lucas and three great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Viola, Lois, Marlene; brothers, Gordon and Sandy.
Herdie was predeceased by his wife, Mary (2017); daughter, Shirley (2006); son, Vaughan (Dec. 2021); five sisters and six brothers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 1:30 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, NS, with Rev. Shannon MacLean officiating.
Please consider wearing a mask. Interment in Heatherdale Cemetery at a later date. Webcasting will begin at 1:28pm (AST) and is available along with online condolences at www.ColchesterCommunity.com
