Margaret MacLeod "Margie"  Dodds (Reid)
Dodds, Margaret “Margie” MacLeod (Reid) – Age 78, Truro, passed away on November 10, 2022, in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born on July 16, 1944, in Thorburn, NS she was a daughter of the late Peter Anderson and Catherine Elizabeth (Urquhart) Reid.

Margie married Colin MacKenzie Dodds on June 15, 1963 and lived with him in several different communities throughout Nova Scotia during his service in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Margie was employed in several ladies’ fashion stores in Halifax and Truro and also as an activity director in a Home for Special Care in Shelburne, NS. She was the first president of the Shelburne Minor Hockey Moms, a past member of several golf clubs in the Truro area and a member of the Truro Curling Club. Margie and Colin spent their winters in the Indian Rocks Beach area of Florida from 2002 to 2013.

Margie is survived by her loving husband, Colin; her children, Paul (Natasha) Dodds, Nanaimo, BC, Ian (Ellie Melanson) Dodds, Moncton, NB, Ann (Jim) McNeilly, Maple Ridge, BC, and her three precious grandchildren, Liam, Logan and Emma, all of BC as well as several nieces and nephews in New Brunswick and Ontario.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Marlene, Janet and Laverne and two brothers in infancy. Margie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Margie’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation of a charity of choice.

By Margie’s request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 1 p.m. in Terrace Hill Cemetery, Truro.
