Obituary for Robert Fillmore
Fillmore, Robert Stephen – Age 77, Belmont, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on January 12, 2024. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late C. Raymond and Vera (Bremner) Fillmore.
Robert was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Truro. He was a transport driver all of his working life, having traveled through the Atlantic provinces delivering feed to hundreds of farms.
He is survived by his son, C. Stephen (Jody) and daughter, Angela, as well as three grandsons, Tyler, Nathan, and Christopher, all of Lower Sackville. Also surviving are his sister, Norma, NS; sisters-in-law, Helen Fillmore, Glenholme; Rose Collins (Darren Haley), Mahone Bay; and Rachel Collins, Parrsboro; brothers-in-law, Aldon, Amherst; Miles, Halifax; Gary, Bridgetown; Charles (Doris), Spencer’s Island; and Mike, Advocate Harbour; Rev. Milton Lambertson, Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Dianne (Collins); his brother, C. Ron of Glenholme; his sister, Joyce of Pennsylvania; and brothers in law, Garth Sponagle, and Willis Collins Jr.
Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to Forest Glen Bible Camp, Brookfield, NS.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 19th from 1pm until time of service at 2pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. Interment will take place in Middle Road Cemetery, Debert at a later date. Webcasting will begin at 1:58 pm (AST) and is available along with online condolences at www.ColchesterCommunity.com.
