GRANT, Shirley Blanche – Age 93, Truro. Shirley Blanche Grant passed away peaceful on March 16, 2024, in the Cedarstone Enhanced Care facility in Truro. Born in Truro, on May 6, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Nellie (Turner) Conley.

Shirley married Walter Vernon Grant, originally from Yarmouth, NS, on February 20, 1954. She took a lot of pride in looking after the home that she and Walter built on Parker St., in Truro. Walter passed away in 1988 after a brief illness.

Shirley was a member of the First United Church in Truro, a member of the Marigold Guild of Needle Arts and volunteered with the Truro Historical Society.

Shirley is survived by her three sons, Bruce (Tracy Spence-Grant) Grant of Truro, Alan (Judy) Grant of Truro and Scott (Lisa Richert) Grant, Saskatchewan; her eight grandchildren, Laura Grant, Truro, Walter (Cassy Carter) Grant, Peterborough, MacKenzie (Parker Gilby) Spence, Grand Prairie, Daniel (Maggie Pearson) Grant, Peterborough, Mark (Alison) Grant, Hilden, Allison (Mackenzie Mitson) Grant, Kalso, BC, Rachael (Christopher Snidal) Grant-Snidal, Winnipeg and William Grant, Winnipeg; eight great grandchildren, Lane, Kennedy, Jacob, Greta, Sloan, Raelyn, Benjamin and Hildie; her sister, Joan Fraser, Langley, BC; brother-in-law, Tip Smith, Tatamagouche, and sister-in-law, Janice, Halifax.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by sisters, Jean, Marjorie and Pauline; brothers, Donald and Douglas and sister-in-law, Shirley.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A family graveside memorial will be held in Bible Hill Cemetery at a later date to honour and remember Shirley’s life.
